Griffin’s defense attorney claims she “exercised her first amendment right to tell a joke.”
“When you look at everything in the media, all the times entertainers make videos or express themselves in other ways, you’ve never seen an entertainer, let alone a comedian, be subject to a criminal investigation.”
It’s unlikely Griffin will be arrested or face charges for the violent depiction of the President, but that shouldn’t take away from the violence her “joke” implicitly condoned.

Of course, liberals have recently compared President Trump’s tweet of an edited WWE clip featuring the President bodyslamming a photoshopped CNN logo to the photo that Griffin released—but come on. This is ridiculous.

Officials are saying that Griffin’s photo will most likely be considered “crude political hyperbole” as opposed to an actual incitement of violence.
The investigation is still pending, however, so who knows what could happen?
